And what’s so amazing is that Tristan can cause so much lusty tension with just a LOOK…and we, the reader, can’t even see him! (□ RuNyx) Morana and Tristan’s story is so complicated and emotionally charged, you can’t help but root for them through all the messy feelings. Morana intends to kill him, but what she doesn’t know is that Tristan has been intending to kill HER for a VERY long time… The tension in this one is so thick. Morana has had her computer codes stolen, and she’s pretty sure the culprit is Tristan Caine, known in mafia circles as The Predator for his lethal skills. and maybe I’ll live dangerously and even continue with the series too if book 2 is better. I liked it even with its flaws and I will get book 2 when it’s released on Audible soon. Worth a credit? Yes 70% liked so probably. And I definitely definitely didn’t like the unexpected CLIFFHANGER either. ![]() Or that it was only told from Morana’s point of view. I didn’t like the plot being 95% inner monologue with continual reminders of his “blue eyes” and his “woodsy” smell and always, and repeatedly, referring to him by his full name of Tristan Caine over and over and over again. BUT there were a few things I didn’t like too. And I liked the unfolding of a dark mystery as the storyline revealed some truths and shocking revelations with drama, tension and suspense as time went on. ![]() I liked the icy cold dynamics that slowly began to thaw as these enemies navigated their very hostile waters. ![]() I liked their angsty, highly-charged (but mostly silent) stare-downs and encounters that spoke of death and retribution. I liked the toxic explosive chemistry between lethal, cold, dark and deadly Tristan who oozed danger and the disillusioned rival Mafia daughter/pawn Morana. This is my first from this author and it kept my interest from beginning to end as her world-building and characters were introduced.
